So many stories and metaphors are woven into this song. The medicine in the telling, the singing of "Big, Big Woman" has given way to healing what happened with acceptance and by taking responsibility for choosing this life. Much of the shame and blame are gone now, though my healing journey continues. As the story finds the true emotions that release it, I get a clarity about who I am and what I came to this life to achieve. The rough and painful places have strengthened and given me a courage I can only explaining by having lived through sometimes terrible circumstances - uncountable girls and women have. Once I released the feeling of being a victim, I got it. I grew into who I am today, a powerfully courageous and loving being. The fire's I walked through also gave me to "shine bright like a diamond."
